Haier U144S

  • Very weak wireless adapter
  • eMMC storage worked for only 1 year
  • Bad touchpad (what a surprise)

Everything else is good for its price

Honor MagicBook 15 BMH-WCX9

Keyboard and touchpad are pretty nice

To avoid bleeding out of your eyes you gonna have to use it at higer gamma and color temperature:

gammastep -PO 6500 -g 1.5:1.5:1.5

Also I had to disable fTPM in BIOS because apparently this thing stutters the whole system pretty much every 30 minutes for about a second or two. They say that it has something to do with the bad firmware:

Such big screen (15.6") is not very suitable to carry around for active moving lifestyle: if you plan to move frequently I'd advise not to take the screen as large as this one.

Also it kind of sucks to not have an Ethernet port...

  • Dec 2022: start of use
  • Dec 2024: when connecting power supply, right-hand USB port kills connected mouse completely

Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15IMH05

  • Huge and heavy as tank (2.2 kg)
  • Not suitable for carrying around
  • NVIDIA still sucks ass on Linux
  • Has camera curtain
  • Has Ethernet

Huawei MateBook B7-420

  • Stupid glossy display
  • Screen size of 14.2" feels tiny
  • Casing wobbles when held by the edges

The quality level lags behind the price tag

Lenovo Yoga Pro 14S APH8

Objectively the best laptop in the world.
